Kate Stevens’ release Comfortable was co-produced with pianist Cam Buie and bassist Kyle Tenove and was co-written in Calgary with Robert Adam. Adam and Stevens wrote of a budding relationship where the couple feels like they have known each other a lifetime, everything is natural, familiar, and comfortable.

Comfortable creates an R&B dreamscape, full of harmonies and moving bass lines. Stevens’ voice brings layers of textures and flows effortlessly overtop Tenove’s bass. Choral sounding background vocals include Steven’s signature whistle tones. While recording Comfortable, Stevens wanted to create a dreamy and warm mood, “like a candle lit bubble bath or a midnight walk with someone you love.”

Stevens sings with such great emotion, listeners connect to her music and feel immersed in a warm embrace. Her sweet tone shines through as she sings affectionately about this relationship; managing to touch the core of your heart with a sound that is warm, passionate, and sincere. Comfortable was produced thanks to support from The Prophets of Music and OCL Studios.
